Ok, so poetry is definitely hard to write. I have a poem all written. It's not very good - very disjointed, doesn't make any sense at all unless you know the exact mindset with which I wrote it, and the end seems inconclusive. Though then again... the disjointed manner with which it's written reflects the turmoil of the thoughts of anyone going through that situation, the inconclusive end matches how their dilemma is ongoing, and to be honest I'm quite glad that the subject isn't clear.
Now, let me get one thing straight. The subject does NOT directly apply to me. It's just something that's kind of been on my mind. Why? No idea. But I know for a fact that very few, if any, of my friends could have written that poem.
Because it's such a screwed up situation - I don't really want people misinterpreting it and applying it to me wrongly; or possibly worse, interpreting it correctly and applying it to me (though saying that makes me a total hypocrite) - I may have to write another one. Ugh. Too much poetry.
So because I know I'll get shot if I don't put it up after all that, here is my titleless poem:
When trust and loyalty turn to dust,
Everything erased in just one day;
When life collapses, spirals down,
Can you say it’s worth it?
Truth or lies, trust or hide.
Is it easier to live in fear?
Sheltered behind the mask,
Seduced by conformity,
The outcast’s life still beckons.
What if that could set you free?
Judging, faceless shadows wait;
You know you’d win their scorn.
Terror overwhelms you;
Your secrets yours alone remain.
And on another note, I am DYING of the cold.
What's this? I wrote a poem without a rhyme scheme?!

I haven't been blogging very much lately, which is disgraceful.
First of all, Shakespeare! I have to say that A Midsummer Night's Dream was the best experience of my life - yes, there are four people who have said that it wasn't as good as last year, but having watched the DVD of last year a few weeks ago, I can say with some certainty that this year's was better - it just meshed together and flowed so much better. Not to mention that everyone else I've spoken to has said it was better!
Then it was the SU weekend! It was so brilliant! The photo challenge was just HILARIOUS, we had so much fun doing that! Even if it was a rather morbid theme...
I was also really challenged the whole time - judging others is something that's been on my mind for a while now, that whole issue really challenged me yet again on the weekend. And accountability, definitely.
Richard III last night wasn't as good as I was hoping, to be honest - I did love the nightmare and the crazy battle scene though. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw one or both of them again next year at the Waterfront, especially if they end up doing Macbeth...
And now I have to write a poem. Dear mind, please be inspired. At the moment you're NOT. That sucks.
What a dull blog post. I should go write a poem/personal statement. I probably won't, though. Ah well.

So this is my second blog post of the evening. The first got deleted. Too personal. I knew I was going to delete it when I posted it. You may still be able to see the first few lines on your dashboard, if you're following me.
So this one has a few very vague similarities.
In fact, this one will be short. Very short.
Stop it. Everyone just stop it. I know that I'm not innocent of all blame, but am I the only one who's noticed what the consequences are?!
Lies, backstabbing, hatred, rifts, judging... it's all built up until all that's left is loneliness. Maybe not for you, if you're reading this. Maybe not for me.
But when I'm literally at a loss for words, because there is NO way to make something right, it's gone too far. I hate feeling so helpless. Confrontation might be bad, but maybe we need it. Or at least to talk.
HONESTLY, that is.
awesome song right here
