1) What are your 5 favourite songs right now?
          1) He Mele No Lilo from the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack - it's the song at the very start that's all in Hawaiian and it's so lovely!
          2) Merry Men from the Robin Hood soundtrack, because it sounds medieval and pretty all at once.
          3) Lucifer by Shinee, best song of theirs in my opinion.
          4) Remember by Big Bang, it's just gorgeous.
          5) Drink Up Me Hearties from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, it's basically all the best bits from the whole soundtrack in one. Unbelievable!

2) What is the most played song on your iTunes?
Merchant Prince by Two Steps From Hell - it has so many plays it's actually RIDICULOUS.

3) What song are you listening to right now?
Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5.

4) What was the last album you acquired?
Pirates of the Caribbean Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer.

5) What was the last gig you went to?
Lady Gaga - this time last year lol. Clearly I don't go to too many concerts...

6) What song can you not get out of your head?
          My First Kiss by 3OH!3

7) What song do you listen to everyday?
Undisclosed Desires by Muse, I'm completely addicted to it for no apparent reason right now.

8) What was the first album you ever bought?
You by S Club 7, what a cool child I was...

9) What was the last single you downloaded?
          Trouble Maker, I think?

10) What is your favourite band right now?
Not even gonna lie, it's Shinee

11) Who is your favourite artist right now?
HANS ZIMMER because his music is flawlesssss.

12) What is your favourite type of music?
Cinematic awesomesauce. And K-Pop. Judge me all you want ^_^

13) In your 25 most played songs what is #10?
Ring Ding Dong by Shinee, this is unsurprising lol.

14) Quote one of your favourite lyrics.
"Before you break you have to shed your armour" - from Aftermath by Adam Lambert <3

15) Do you listen to music everyday?
Yes, I just kind of switch it on automatically, and me trying to do work without it on in the background results in much anger and frustration.

Not that interesting a meme, but it was fun to do! :D

Why I Will NEVER Not Be Considered A Nerd

Tuesday, 18 October 2011

Was originally going to be a tumblr post, but it's taking a year or so to upload so I'm impatient.

LOOK AT THIS. This is an example of stupidity. Look at that glorious French dictionary; clearly, it is supposed to be the big dictionary as opposed to the portable one taken to class. Now look at that puny Spanish dictionary beside it - it looks like a slightly oversized portable one, but no, it's supposedly the 'big' dictionary in this equation. WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I BOUGHT IT, IT IS NOWHERE NEAR GLORIOUS ENOUGH TO SATISFY MY NEED FOR IDIOMS!!!!

Also that's quite a glorious poster on the wall there, I adore it teeheehee.

That is all.

Stardust

Friday, 14 October 2011
It is late at night, I should sleep, I don't have to get up in the morning so I'm not sleeping yet, and I wanna blog but I never want to blog so I'm actually going to blog. However like I said it's late and I'm a bit hyper so therefore I am going to make no sense.

So remember how one time I did that blog where it was all my thoughts every five minutes? This time it's going to be all the INTERESTING things I think. So Claudia will understand parts of this and otherwise it may not make sense. Sowwee.

START.

"Baby youuuuu're... GONE! YOOOOOOOOOU'RE... GONE! Yoogeun gone!" It does not get any less funny ever. No seriously!

Kekekeke Ji Hoo's rolling the chair. (it is now obvious that I am on tumblr)

Lol Gatsby was in Breakfast at Tiffany's! Or at least it looked like Gatsby. Endlessly amusing tbqh.

I want people to start tinfoiling the doors again, that was good craic. It was like flatmate bonding! Like the time I was over - "Singin' our song, all day long, in CUUUULMORE!" - at Stran and there was a ghost lol. Except I was outside the bonding experience. Awww.

PINGU.

"What's G-Dragon's real name? Isn't it like Jiyoung or something?" "What?! NO. It's... um... JO KWON!" Hehehehehe FUSH! Also high high. Equally relevant.

MY NAME IS MINHO. Ha Claudia is a hyung-whore! NO. I AM TOO SEXY FOR YOU. I have a new necklace that has a clock and it's a KEY! <3 <3 <3 "Yoogeunnie... babo-neun." *nodnod* THAT WAS FUNNY BECAUSE I DIDN'T NEED SUBS AND IT WAS SASSY.

...oh dear goodness I DESERVE to be shouted at for this. It makes no sense unless you're ME, never mind Claudia. Oh in French Contextual Studies today they mentioned how they have films within films and I was like INCEPTION instead of SHAKESPEARE which is unlike me and I need to get a ticket for that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1qzm3UUTrg

I have a Mandarin buddy! Sadly we haven't actually learned any Mandarin yet, but this gives me a full set because Claudbag's my Korean buddy, May Jay's my Japanese buddy (oh no, you've lost your balance!) and now I have Jade! Yay!

JAKE STILL HASN'T TAUGHT US TO PLAY POKER, COME ON NOW BOIII.

heh 2PM.

*FrenchFrenchFrench* Au Revoir Les Enfants was so sad! En revanche, L'Arnacœur m'a fait rire beaucoup. Also whose fault is it that I now notice hot guys, Kerri or Claudia's?? Probably not Lizzie's. Eoin Macken read ASoIaF, this makes me happy.

I don't know whether to look forward to tomorrow morning because it's soon, or Saturday morning because it sounds awesome... so glad it's not the Monday-Wednesday BTS-update stretch lol. The wait would not be fun! EXCEPTION NOWWW.

Okay gonna shut up now. Sorry for tricking you into reading this. I have no explanation other than hyper feelings and late-night lack of sense.

On another note I watched Stardust last night and feel the need to laugh at Elizabeth not understanding it. Also, totally in awe that both Ben Barnes and Mark Strong were in it. They keep appearing these days! It's bizarre. Oh and Ian McKellan, mega lolz. Reblogged a post of him the other day, how random. And there was someone else??? Oh well. Most adorable film I've ever liked that wasn't actually a children's film, enough said!

I was going to add a picture but NO, I AM TOO SEXY FOR YOU. Oh wait, that'll work! Except I'll scar you forever. Go look at Claudia's twitter instead, that'll work :D

(Yes, this is actually my brain if it's sleep deprived. Not very many commas, no sir.)

Can You Hear Me?

Saturday, 24 September 2011
So since blogger is DEAD, let us test the degree of deadness. Voila! A tumblr meme! How this works is you leave a comment with up to 3 of the numbers in it, then I answer those numbers. To test the level of deadness on blogger, we shall see how long it takes people to respond to this. Ready... and... GO!

1. Three things I want to say to three different people.
2. One of my insecurities.
3. What turns me on.
4. One of my bad habits.
5. Who I wish I could be.
6. Where I want to be right now.
7. The last thing I ate.
8. Sexiest person that comes to my mind immediately.
9. What song I’m currently listening to.
10. The last time I cried and why.
11. Something I’m excited about.
12. 5 things I like about myself and 5 things I dislike about myself.
13. Three things I want right now.

Meme Time YAY!

Monday, 12 September 2011
Wanted to blog. Found this meme. Thought this meme was awesome. Did this meme. YAY!

i think: i've got addicted to the queue button on tumblr (after taking forever to realise it existed, that is).

i know: how to wire a plug. i am way more proud of this fact than i should be.

i want: to watch another episode of iris! or hello baby. not in a bof mood for some reason? and i don't think ep 8 of ouran has been subbed yet anyways.

i have: this plan where every day this year at uni i'm going to spend an hour of my free time at the library studying a different language, splitting my time between polish, korean, german, japanese, italian and mandarin chinese. russian was also an option for 2 seconds before i decided i didn't care enough.

i wish: that it was possible to go on holiday to the past (not the future because that's just too weird), or to fictional alternate universes. it would be freaking AMAZING.

i hate: small-town gossiping and narrow-mindedness. it makes me want to stab people with a blunt spoon.

i miss: AMY GRACE MCKEE! it feels like she's been away longer than a week =(

i fear: the day when i grow up, stop being immature and start worrying about things.

i feel: exceedingly tired, and should probably go to bed since i have to get up early, but i really want to finish this so i shall stay up!

i hear: rain! not rain rain as in older TA-DA rain, rain as in weather rain. it's a nice sound, i like it!

i smell: nothing, which is unsurprising because I was pretty much born without a sense of smell. YAY!

i crave: alone time if i've been with people for too long, especially large groups.

i search: my soul daily to try and discover myself. LOL JK i hardly ever do that unless i'm depressed.

i wonder: whether jon snow is really dead or not? i'm inclined to say not. even if he is i bet melisandre could fix it. except if this results in anything similar to catelyn i will throw the book across the room. anything would be preferable to THAT, including another red wedding, no more bran pov ever and daenerys not leaving meereen until the end of dream of spring.

i regret: having so many exams that we couldn't go to smtown paris. seriously messed up priorities there tbh.

i love: MAFIA GUY LOLLL

i ache: after 10 minutes of exercise. this leads me to believe that exercise is a Bad Thing.

i care: a huge amount about a few things and very little about most things.

i always: repeat inside jokes far too much. yes, i am aware of this habit of mine, and it annoys me as well lol.

i am not: the kind of person who admits things, unless a) i know you don't care or b) information is forcibly dragged out of me. this has resulted in people getting angry at me, imagine that!

i believe: that this post has been very not cryptic so far, so i'll get my fix in this one. according to my mems, paintings do not make good horcruxes and letter openers are basically evil, while delinquents are the next best and exceptions really do need to be made more quickly, savvy?

i dance: roly poly, genie and muzik. i blame amy for the first and key for the other two -_-

i sing: only in church or if no one can hear me. i must admit though, i quite like singing!

i cry: at the end of the second narnia movie when they have to leave ;~; EVERY TIME. who says i'm heartless now?!

i don’t always: spend my time wisely, for example that time that i found a video and wanted to understand it so i found a vietsubbed version and spent all afternoon pausing it and google translating. on that note, vietnamese has TOO MANY ACCENTS.

i fight: the bad guys every time they appear in my dreams. i would probably be afraid in real life and run away, but in my dreams i tend not to die so fighting makes more sense.

i write: very infrequently, unless you count my diary and blog? my muses are super lazy so my LJ is quite empty lol. i'm definitely more of a reader!

i win: no competitions because i enter no competitions because i am too lazy!

i lose: things all the time. or at least i always think i've lost something, just because i do it so often!

i never: swear in front of people, EVER. my brain-mouth filter is generally terrible, but 100% efficient in that respect.

i confuse: fiction and reality if i've been reading for long enough without stopping. my favourite instance of this is when i almost stopped myself from saying 'thank you' to a woman in a shop because i'd just gone through the mercy thompson series and fae consider you indebted to them if you thank them xD

i listen: to my ipod every single time I'm in my car, and not the radio. this is why I'm never up to date on music in the (uk) charts.

i can usually be found: in my bedroom, with the door closed, on my laptop listening to music. because i can be a little bit antisocial sometimes/all the time.

i am scared: of pretty much all insects in existence, except for the ones smaller than money spiders and wasps. yes, wasps. the ones that are actually dangerous.

i need: to have a long discussion with sean the satnav about the difference between newcastle and newry.

i am happy about: the fact that i got into pottermore before everyone else. heh heh.

ALLO. I am multitasking!! That's unusual, but yay! Let's answer Claudia's questions.

If were forced to change your name, what would it be?
I don't have a clue! I would have to think about it a LOT, and find a name which is uncommon but still nice. And not a unisex name, of course. Good gracious, why is this a question, now I'm looking up Japanese names! None of which I would reeeally want, by the way. Something foreign might be fun, though, Polish maybe? I do love Poland! ...I'm going to stop thinking about this now.

If you were stuck at one age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose?
I'm taking this to mean that you're at the same physical/mental/emotional age, but still experiencing the rest of your life as opposed to being trapped in a short space of time forever? In which case I would say about 20, because I like this mental/emotional age and it shouldn't have changed too much in the span of 2 years, however I read once that your twenties are your best physical age so that just seems to be good all-round!

You just got a plane ticket to anywhere on earth. You have to leave right now! Where are you gonna go?
Poland!!!! I would say Korea, except then I'd be stranded there with nowhere to go, and that would be rather scary, especially seeing as leaving RIGHT NOW means minimal packing so you'd be doubly screwed!! However in Poland I can just go stay with Agniezska and therefore I will not be screwed and it will be interesting so WIN.

If you only had two music artists to listen to for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Two Steps From Hell would definitely have to be one, given that I have over 60 of their tracks already and I am nowhere close to being sick of them. Another one?! Well it would have to be a non-instrumental artist. And I don't have a favourite non-instrumental artist. Ohhhh wait - DJ Masa, because then I get loads of k-pop! Hehe loopholes FTW ^_^

What is your current desktop picture?
Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, what would it be?
Smell, because apparently I don't possess a sense of smell anyway, so I wouldn't even realise it was gone! And who knows, maybe I wouldn't be plagued with hayfever as much -_-

Oh no! Your house just spontaneously combusted! Thankfully your family members and pets have made it out safely, so what’s that one thing you are going to save from that blazing inferno?
My collection of diaries - just flicking through them for a few seconds usually makes me laugh, and when I forget everything that ever happened to me (when I'm older this IS going to happen, my memory is just sooo bad) then I'll be able to look through them and see what I did all my life! So it'd suck if I lost them in a spontaneous combustion.

Matt Smith and Amy Pond have just crashed into your living room in the Tardis. They offer you a short trip back to the past. What year/era would you choose to go to?
Oh my gosh I don't even know, too much to choose from! I'd love to get a look at any of the ancient civilisations, really, but if it's a short trip then I'd better go see something exciting, n'est-ce pas? So I'd go to medieval England, to the day when the greatest tournament of all time took place - watch a bit of the jousting, go for a walk around the medieval city, come back in time to see the mêlée, then sneak into the banquet that night. No, I don't know exactly when the greatest tournament of all time took place, but hey, if anyone knows, it'll be Doctor Who. Or my mother, I suppose. I should go ask her.

What one fictional character do you wish was a real person?
Just one?! Sighhhh. I'm tempted to say Stefan, but that might be a bit dangerous, or Drogon, because that would be VERY dangerous and lots of fun... but Drogon would need Daenerys otherwise it would just be like *killingkillingkilling forever*, so that might diminish the fun. I'm also tempted by Jon Snow, but that's just shallow. AHA! I have solved it! Oreg from Hurog is my choice! That's just a win all round ^_^

The government is forcing you to produce children and are offering any sperm/egg from any celebrity on earth. Who would you choose?
Eli Porter, obviously. Who wouldn't?!?!

You are holding a baby shower for your new born and are allowed ten guests. Who would be invited?
Probably just friends, because then we can have a party! Which isn't possible when there's a lot of family there. So, the guest list would look something like this:

1) The person who is totally going to be swayed over to Team Mafia, yepyepyep!
2) The one who is caught between a compass, a universe, a dog, a not-a-dog, and a perpetual spelling mistake.
3) You know nothing, this person. It is known.
4) The one who lives in the mountain.
5) The person who knows what's really weird? THIS.
6)The one who likes her tea and skin quite milky.
7) The person who dreams of reality.
8) The Novio.
9) She who taught me while laughing at me (kshaowngshka)!
10) My favourite person to force into productivity.

Wow! You’ve just found your doppelgänger in opposite gender of yourself - how would they look? Speaking of look-a-likes, do you know anyone that looks like yourself?
Claudia what kind of question is this??? As in, what would I look like if I was a boy?! I think that's basically what you're asking here so I'll answer that question. Um me as a boy would have super messy hair, due to curliness, but it wouldn't be that long. Boy-me would have a face like mine except more masculine, obviously, and would be muscle-less due to lack of sports, but not super skinny due to food, so maybe a little chubbier? Oh, and they would have less fashion sense than Jordan. But to answer your other question, when I was younger I looked like the girl from Matilda!

That Awkward Moment...

Friday, 17 June 2011
...When the voices in your head just WON'T SHUT UP!

Apparently having an argument with myself means I must blog to let the voices out or else they'll break my brain (after writing this I do feel saner again. Not much, but every little helps!). But yes. THIS is what I've been putting up with inside my head for the last few minutes:

But... I don't even like medical dramas! Hospitals aren't places that I want to see on my tv screen!

The previews are so funny though! I should watch this one.

Yes but, but, there don't seem to be very many characters! There seem to be like three of them! I only really like stuff with lots of characters.

Irrelevant. Quality over quantity ;)

SHALLOW! And unnecessary, I'm not even that attached.

Lies, I'm attached to both equally and if it was the less legitimate one then there would be NO argument!

This is all nonsense anyway! I hardly ever watch tv shows, why should I watch this one?

Well, there's also the fact that there seems to be some of my favourite plot devices included...

Um... it doesn't start till I'm basically on holiday anyway! So that makes watching it difficult.

FINE THEN I'LL DECIDE WHEN I GET BACK!

...the fact that I only argue with myself over things as mundane is this may be the real problem here. Now there's a deeply philosophical conundrum.

A Tale of Revision (or lack thereof)

Tuesday, 17 May 2011
At the moment, I'm revising. Or trying to. In fact, I'm very bored. So this will be an exciting chronicle of my afternoon! Yay.

WARNING: This blog contains moderate Roman numerals, and mild euphemism of the fantasy genre.

ENTRY I - 14:03
Decision has been taken to immortalise this afternoon's crusade in blog. Decision has also been made to prepare a brew of tea.

ENTRY II - 14:09
Returned from the kitchenlands. Currently devouring the biscuits pilfered en route.

ENTRY III - 14:16
I find myself ponderous as I sip my tea. Ginger is a very pleasant spice, to be sure, but why IS it that I despise cinnamon so when it is considered fragrant by the majority?! I suppose I shall never understand this riddle.

ENTRY IV - 14:24
Concentration has deserted me again, the turncoat. I should have the traitor executed for treason, but... war with exams is on the horizon, so winning Concentration back to my cause would be a better strategy.

ENTRY V - 14:39
Twitter has gone insane and possibly needs some milk of the poppy to heal its fragile mental state o.O

ENTRY VI - 14:56
Came to my senses after realising I'd just read another chapter of the tome entitled A Clash of Kings. This marks 2 hours lacking work - remedy is needed, and at once.

ENTRY VII - 15:11
Slander and libel! My honour has been besmirched with these petty allegations. At this rate the dragon will be woken!

ENTRY VIII - 15:34
The motherlord is returned! It is of critical importance that I make it look like I'm working!

ENTRY IX - 15:45
The motherlord left again to visit her own motherlord. There can now be a return to the organised chaos of before.

ENTRY X - 15:52
There are stirrings of festivity on twitter...

ENTRY XI - 15:57
It is as suspected! In the realm of twitter it is now QUESTION TIME.

ENTRY XII - 16:06
After putting it to a vote, the High Council of Brain decided unanimously that work should be postponed until further notice. Preferably eventide.

ENTRY XIII - 17:10
Given it be an hour and longer since I last remembered this tab was open, I do believe it time that it were published...

Things Which Are Fabulous

Saturday, 14 May 2011
Sometimes, I have bad moods, I think everyone does. But a lot of the time, I get annoyed because people always seem to worry and complain and it's so pointless! And then I do those things too, that's silly. And look, I'm complaining about complainers now!

Enough complaining.

So anyway. This is a blog post. Within the blog post from now on there shall only be optimism! But not the sickly sweet rainbows and unicorns kind of optimism, more like the screw you world worrying's too much effort kind of optimism.

Well no, it'll be probably be both, but stop questioning me before I chop your head off.

OH YES! I like lists. This will be listish, but not overly like a list, because that might seem like organisation, eww.

EXAMS
You may ask yourself, how can exams be awesome? How is it possible in any way, shape or form?! Well, the answer to that is simple! You see, once you have finished an exam, you know that you have no more revision for it, and that is a Good Feeling. You may also know that it went well. That is a Good Feeling. Also, it was an A-Level exam and you did it and the GCSE people are whining about those little tests so you can get a whole superiority complex about being more fabulous than them because you're doing harder exams! Superiority complexes ftw lakk.

ICE CREAM
I think I want some ice cream. However, to my knowledge there is no ice cream in the house and going to Graham's would be more effort than likely or possible, so no ice cream for me for now. But ice cream is fabulous nonetheless, especially when within arm's reach.

GLEE
Last night was the best episode of Glee evarrrrr. But this should be a spoiler free zone so I'll shut up now! (Spoilers might incite complaining, you see. And then heads would be needing a-chopping.)

MATHS
I love maths! Maths maths maths. I did maths today, C3 in fact, and it was like a holiday! We shall not talk about English, it is a disgrace, but maths is wondrously fun.

IMAGINATION
I love my imagination! It sleeps most of the time but when it's awake it's like the best toy ever! This is why I dislike sad romantic films, they're too realistic and boring. Why would you want a man and a woman and "destiny" keeping them apart when you can have ice-breathing dragons, stars with lightning silver hair, a wall of ice that spans a country, direwolves and hellhounds, or walking sticks that can *censured because my head would be a-chopped if I spoiled that on Mary-Jane*? Okay so those are the toys of other people's imaginations, but I can play with them just the same and here is not the place for anything I dream up.

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE
Anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about here is probably everyone but that's still disgraceful! What I am talking about is my new favourite book series. Jon Snow is possibly replacing Stefan in my heart as Best Fictional Character Ever (which means I need to reread Bone Crossed, ne?), and I love all the little details - Dothraki language, the Others, the direwolves, it's all epic and the tv show is so good too!

K-POP
I have regained my love for k-pop! Haters to the left please. No, I'm not obsessing over feminine boys; I love the music, no matter how cheesy it can sometimes be, the language is awesome and the culture is fascinating! So if SM Town comes to London, I will be SO THERE.

INTERNETS
Because of internets je peux télécharger un livre que je ne aurait pas pu acheter et le lire, je peux parler avec vous, je peux regarder en directe les émissions Américains! C'est fantastique, non?

FRENCH
Lol see above.

TEA
I like tea. Tea warms you from the inside, and drives away the cold of winter. But then, what do you know of winter? You were born in the long summer. But winter is coming, and we'd best be ready when it does.

NONSENSE
A mad man sees what he sees. There's more often than not method or truth to madness and nonsense, which makes it epically epic, or maybe you just don't understand the code.

PIRATES
Any man who falls behind is left behind. Somalia? A poor modern imitation, with fear and guns on their side but none of the sails and buccaneering spirit. Maybe parrots and wooden legs were from tales as false as kraken, maybe there was never honour amoung thieves, but today is still a bleak day of steel and death, not sea and freedom.

HAIR
I love my hair! It's so well behaved. It's easy to deal with straightened because it doesn't unstraighten, it's easy to deal with curly because you just clip the sides back with the butterfly clip, and it's not very greasy. Thank you hair for not making my life more difficult!

TWITTER
Twitter is fun. Chat chat chat! Better than facebook because that's where Lord Varys would keep his little birds.

CRYPTICISM
Ahh, being cryptic is a great hobby of mine! One that will someday make someone punch me in anger, but that's not the point. The point is that I started writing this blog, and it was a happy blog, and then crypticism crept in and it was still happy and it was even more fun to write. Again, haters to the left; I know my nonsense bugs y'all but it's a part of me, and I enjoy my crypticism so deal with it! Also if you want to know what I was on about in this blog, I suggest you watch Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones. After that you'll get just about every single reference to anything I put in here xD (ok no I also referenced Narnia, Mercy Thompson and Dragon Prince, but only briefly so they don't count!)

Today...

Tired! Slept in the garden... my room was ovenier. Got interviewed by a policeman? #rebel

A Look Inside My Head

Saturday, 23 April 2011
Have you ever wanted to know what I was thinking? Probably not. But ah well, you're going to find out anyway! This afternoon, at 5 minute intervals (courtesy of the timer on my phone), I'll make a note of EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Or at least, as close to exactly what I'm thinking as I can put into words, because unless I'm a freak I'm assuming everyone thinks moreso in emotions etc than actual coherent sentences...

ANYWAY. Let the thought log begin!

2:25 - "Grr it's not here!" (I was looking for RTE Lyric on the radio part of iTunes - Kerribbz told me they were having a soundtrack day. That sounded fun.)
2:30 - "Right, I better close this iTunes window before the timer goes off again and I'm still thinking exactly the same thing! That'd be silly - aw, darn!"
2:35 - "So I take it you're listening to RTE Lyric right now?" (I was on MSN and in the middle of typing this to Mary-Jane.)
2:40 - "I should stop biting my pen, I'd be sad if I broke the dragon off again."
2:45 - "Everyday I shop, SHOP!"
2:50 - "Hmm I need to download some more k-pop."
2:55 - "Easter egg! Nom nom nom."

3:00 - "I need to look that up!" (How to say 'Sometimes I have the urge to conquer large parts of Europe' in Latin.)
3:05 - "May Jay needs to read Cry Wolf already!"
3:10 - "Guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Catholic Encyclopedia's trying to preserve the honour of the popes."
3:15 - "Hmm, I still can't figure out whether this song sounds more Native American or Oriental or what!"
3:20 - "How the flip can you have an anti-pope?! Is that like a pope composed of antimatter??"
3:25 - "What was I going to look up a minute ago? I forget. Sigh."
3:30 - "Oww, my head hurts."
3:35 - "What IS the Treasury of Grace? Gah so screwed for Chaucer!"
3:40 - "Treasury of MERIT?! They used the wrong word in the MARKS SCHEME?!"
3:45 - "Time for a break. Glee fluff meme!"
3:50 - "Why is that one not filled, why?!"
3:55 - "Um... I'm gonna go back to Treasury of Merit. This is freaking me OUT." (transubstantiation o.O)

4:00 - "Blah, skip that song! More Two Steps From Hell!"
4:05 - "Lol Harry Potter references make everything seem more fun!"
4:10 - "This is ridiculously adorable I am totally not crying eeep so cute!"
4:15 - "Huh, is he Egyptian?"
4:20 - "Papa Rain's on the Time 100 list too? He's so cool."

And then I got bored of this and decided to do some work because that's also boring.

Two Truths and a LIE

Saturday, 9 April 2011
So, has anyone heard of this one before? You have 3 statements, and one of them is FALSE! And the readers have to guess which one it is! Except I know fine well that no one's gonna guess, so this is just for fun!

ROUND ONE - Personality
- I'm a fairly good liar, but I normally pretend not to be so that I'm believed when it matters.
- I know that being more innocent than most teenagers makes me seem like an idiot sometimes, but I don't care - I would HATE to be dirty-minded.
- I would rather be as mean but assertive as I was in, say, 3rd year, than as passive as I am now.

ROUND TWO - Would you rather...
- I would rather get a tattoo than get more piercings.
- I would rather drink than try smoking.
- I would rather live near my family (ie in NI) for the rest of my life than move abroad permanently.

ROUND THREE - Books?! Aka random boring round in the middle.
- I have never started reading a book and not finished it.
- I got a dictionary for my 9th birthday.
- I have read over 10 chapters of the Bible in French.

ROUND FOUR - Scandal!
- I swear constantly when no one can hear me, but have yet to slip up and swear in front of someone by accident.
- It was Mary-Jane's description of the incestuous gay twins that made me want to watch Ouran in the first place, and they're still by far my favourite characters.
- I've had a full-blown crush on someone more than a year younger than me.

ROUND FIVE - Friends
- I'm always so cryptic because of trust issues, which due to certain people have been getting worse.
- I get attached to people easily, and hate letting any friendships die.
- I have a couple of friends I only know online, who know things about me real-life friends don't.

That's all folks! Feel free to guess away/attack me at the container party - who knows, I might even tell you some answers if you guess right... or not.

HOW TO FIND A FORMAL DRESS IN TEN EASY STEPS

Saturday, 2 April 2011
1) Avoid the internet at all costs! It will lie to you, steal all your money, and then send you a size 36 dress when you wanted a size 12. You will then be drowned and suffocated under all the many layers of oversized dress that will engulf you when it arrives and then you won't be able to go to the formal at all because you'll be DEAD.

2) Find someone who can drive, catch them in a compromising position, and blackmail them into driving you to Newry/Belfast/London/Paris/New York and then paying for anything you decide to buy there. ALTERNATIVELY: learn to drive and steal Kerri's lottery winnings.

3) Actually go to Newry/Belfast/London/Paris/New York/basically anywhere that isn't Kilkeel/Annalong/the country. Because let's face it, unless Asda/the Barbican/May's starts a black market trade in formal dresses, you will have to either venture out of Mourne to find one or else wear a dress made from spare tractor parts.

4) Find some shops that sell dresses. If you're lucky, there will be some giant neon signs pointing the way, however this is unlikely so you will need to use your Passion for Fashion to guide you. If you do not possess a Passion for Fashion, you will have to rely on your Common Sense to find what you seek. If you do not possess Common Sense, then you are screwed. Sorry about that.

5) Do not, under any circumstances, show weakness to the shop assistants. They can smell your fear and will attack mercilessly using the weapons of Persuasion and Compliments! Then you will be in debt before you even get the chance to take out a student loan, how depressing!

6) Using Decisiveness, choose a dress you like. If it is designer and has many flaws and is expensive but has an awesome label, then your Passion for Fashion and your Common Sense will go to war. This will destroy you from within and will probably destroy your bank balance too. Therefore you should avoid designer dresses and you will hopefully live longer. However there is still the chance that you will get run over by a bus a few minutes later, but oh well!

7) Buy the dress you chose with Decisiveness using money. Not Monopoly money, shops don't take kindly to that. OPTIONAL: destroy your bank balance in the process.

8) Hire a slave to guard your formal dress with his life. His duties should include: stalking everyone else to make sure they don't get the same dress as you, killing anyone who tries to sabotage your dress, and making tea.

9) Return home triumphant after conquering over the trials of dress shopping. Lock the dress and slave in a secure place. Complain to your friends that you hate the dress so that the fools think they'll be better dressed than you - ha! Not likely, because your slave is ripping up their dresses as you speak, so you'll be the only one at the formal who isn't wearing rags! Smugness is appropriate at this point.

10) Have a panic attack because NOW YOU NEED TO FIND SHOES!

Lol I just discovered that I already have a "dressing up" tag! That seems appropriate. *uses*

A Stratford Story

Sunday, 27 March 2011
So basically, this is EXACTLY what happened in Stratford. Retold with extreme accuracy. Yep. You should totally believe that...

Assassination on the Avon (or, what happens when you mix Shakespeare and racism...)

Once upon a time, there was a young Baptist by the name of Elizabeth 'Lil Flo' Morris. She was a racist. One day, the leaders of the Something Special division of the KKK (which she belonged to) heard of an outing which had originally been envisioned as a trip for those with a passion for Shakespeare, and they gave her an important mission - to feign an interest in "English", commandeer the trip, and use it as an opportunity to slay some ethnic minorities in England.

She jumped at the chance!

Which is how, a few months later, she found herself inside a cramped minibus, surrounded by mortals with high-vis coats and loud voices. It's a good job they were all white, or she'd have had to slaughter them all!

As it was, she tricked two of them into going the wrong way in the airport, so they got shouted at for not sticking with the group, and stole the boarding pass of another, causing her to have a mental breakdown. Really, they deserved it - they just weren't racist enough!

She decided to keep a low profile for the next day, though - she joined the rest dressing up in the church creche as though she was a child-in-a-teenager's-body just like them, as opposed to the Racist-Old-Woman-in-a-teenager's-body she really was. Soon afterwards, upon learning that he-who-has-more-life-experience-than-you was bringing friends to their secret meeting the next day, the woman with a dragon tattoo had a spaz fit the likes of which has never been seen since Claudia discovered it was legal for her to marry an Asian. ("Interracial marriage?! I'll have to deal with these warped ideas of hers later," the racist had thought to herself on that occasion.)

That night, they attended King Lear. First of all, Elizameth did not approve of this bird that had suddenly appeared in the hair of she-who-likes-Asia; the entire purpose of buying her wondrous new English mousse was so that she could become the first woman to create a nest out of hair! But alas, apparently it was not meant to be.

She scorned the play. Didn't these people know that being racist made you immortal?! (Well, at least in the sense that you would be known for all of eternity as the Racist One.) Honestly, the smell of their mortality was not "Yummy", it made her feel sick!

The third day, she found her target! Although his real name was Dharmesh, it would have been beneath her to actually REMEMBER it, so she nicknamed him Rashmeed Curry. Much easier to remember! However, instead of being able to assassinate him straight after Hamlet like she had intended, she had to wait until after the interview with the almighty Jonjo, since he attended it as well. And then Dharshmeed or whatever his name was decided he wanted to steal a ring from her poor, unsuspecting friend! (At least, that's what the curly-haired racist told herself - see how warped and twisted her mind is?!) She would have to wait, then. Wait until after this "Romeo and Juliet" (that was Shakespeare, right? She was fairly sure it wasn't maths) to take him out. No, not on a date!

She began wondering if she should have just set her sights on the manly-looking black woman. But then, she reasoned, the boys in the group would be angry with her for killing the love of their lives... no, best to stick with Dhrashmeed.

The fourth day, during a visit to Warwick Castle, she was constantly planning how she could pull off the assassination. Maybe she could steal one of those ancient swords... No, it would be too awkward to bring back on the train. Besides, her bare hands and vicious nature had never failed her before! She was overthinking it, she decided, it'd be fine!

She did get some ideas from the torture chambers, though.

And that night, after Romeo and Juliet, her target entered the Dirty Duck, and she immediately went into Assassination Mode. He handed Claudia back her ring (Lil' Flo made a mental note to avoid touching said ring at all costs from now on, just on the offchance that it turned her black or something), and left... the Racist One followed him, sneaking out without anyone else noticing. She tiptoed up behind him, and was just about to deal the fatal blow, when someone came around the corner! It was Mr Cowan, out for a run!

Cursing his bad timing, she slunk back to the pub to drown her sorrows with some Sprite laced with alcohol. Never before had she failed so miserably!

On the final day, she started working off her hangover by turning her body into a human right angle through many cartwheels. According to the laws of physics, this spilts up all of the alcohol molecules in the bloodstream due to the corresponding anatomical split, so it greatly eased the pain. (The pain in her heart of ice - not of stone, because it's less white - that she hadn't been able to slay Rashmeed was still there, though.)

She worked off some more of the hangover through vigorous rowing, while laughing at the pathetic attempts of all others to manouvre the boats - KKK training meant she had rowed the whole way up the Nile, so this was a piece of cake in comparison! The others were so feeble, honestly!

Her depression returned when they boarded the plane that would bring them home. She had failed in her mission - Dharmesh lived! And what was worse, from a few whispered comments that she overheard on the minibus home, the others were starting to suspect her innate racism! So not only had she lost her lethal edge, but her reputation as a non-racist was at stake...

She returned to Something Special with a heavy heart. Upon relaying the tale to her superiors, they kicked her out of the KKK. She was so depressed after that, she ended up renouncing her racist ways and marrying Dharmesh, though she could never remember his name and ended up calling him Rashmeed. And they all lived happily ever after!

THE END

Challenge: SCANDAL

Saturday, 5 March 2011
For that last meme, Mary-Jane challenged me to write a scandalous blog post - as pretty much everyone knows, given that I've been completely stuck for ideas and whining to anyone available to help me think of one! She and I have been trying to come up with possible ideas I could use for it - in fact, here's a list of everything we ever thought of:

1) Tell every secret that I've ever had. In a cryptic fashion, because otherwise that's just insane, but then again if I did do it in a cryptic fashion then everyone would hate me... well, moreso.

2) What I really think of people, ooooh! Except I already do too many of those.

3) THIS. No further explanation is needed, I believe.

4) Crushcrushcrush, except that doesn't work because I don't currently have one!

5) A controversial opinion I have...

May Jay was actually the one who suggested that last one - "to create some debate". Except I don't like debates that much, and I'm all debated out this week anyway! But I quite liked it anyway, and then suddenly the idea grew and it turned into opinions-on-all-controversial-topics-ever, and then we decided it should be a new meme! So behold - if you read this, you must create a post of your own with the same sub-headings, stating your own beliefs on whatever the issue is!

RELIGION

I'm a Christian, that's no secret. I believe that God is real, I believe that the Bible is true, I believe that I need God in my life, and I've seen God work in my life time and time again. For me, this one's pretty simple, which is why it's short despite being the most important to me.

MULTICULTURALISM (ie racism/immigration/integration)

If you were wondering... I based the heading for this one on a French topic we do this year. Lol fail.

However, this is one of the things that I am most passionate about - racism and xenophobia infuriate me. Ignoring Elizabeth and her coffee, what angers me most are the deeply rooted prejudices that say that anyone from the Middle East is a terrorist, anyone from Eastern Europe is a rapist, etc etc. Everyone seems to be so against immigration, thinking that it swallows up jobs that belong to the natives (for lack of a better word), but then, would locals want the menial tasks that they so often undertake? Everyone complains that they can't speak English - but they try, they learn, and how many people in this country can speak any other languages at all? And then there are those trying to escape terrorists in their own land - exactly what is so wrong about that?

Yes, there are those who come to fiddle the tax system. Yes, there are those who come and end up getting drunk and stabbing someone, or committing some other kind of crime. But there are many, many more people who commit those same crimes who have lived here their entire lives. And it's nothing but a stereotype that all foreigners are like that.

Wow, I got completely off track there... back to beliefs! I don't believe that where you were born, the colour of your skin, or your religion should make you a second class citizen. What I believe is simply that all of us are human, and should be treated the same no matter our origins.

SECTARIANISM

Somehow, I feel less strongly about this one despite it having more relevance... or at least, my feelings in regard to this one are a whole lot simpler. Basically I think that sectarianism is a menace. Like I said in the one above, no one should be treated differently because of their religion. I know people who are Catholics, and they are lovely people! Ignorance and hate are poisonous, and it's only a matter of time until they either drain away, or (sadly, this is more likely) weaken our local society to the point where it collapses in on itself, and people start killing each other again. Which is why I strongly believe that sectarians are idiots, totally blinded by hate. I know that some of them have had wrong done to them - but blaming an entire sector of the community for it is just ridiculous. I could go on, but I'd only depress myself. In short: I believe that sectarianism needs to DIE.

HOMOSEXUALITY

I know of at least one person who was completely shocked that I don't tend towards the ultra-conservative viewpoint here, but I don't. I can understand why some people think it's wrong, but that doesn't give them the right to judge - far from it. And personally, I believe that the spate of LGBT teen suicides recently is a much more frightening thought than that gay marriage might be legalised.

ABORTION

I can understand abortion in cases where the mother's life is at risk, but otherwise I believe that it's equal to infanticide. Especially late abortions! Apparently babies have been born prematurely and survived, after a pregnancy of about the same length as one terminated by a late abortion! That just seems wrong on every level, so I'm pretty strongly against abortion.

THE SUPERNATURAL

To anyone who says that the Harry Potter books are the work of the devil - WRONG. Fantasy is the best kind of fiction! However, I don't believe in magic, werewolves, vampires, fae, etc - that's silly! I also think that astrology is a load of nonsense, as are the psychics you see advertised in the paper. However, there have been one or two times in my own life when real life has mirrored a dream I had previously - though nothing on the scale of James! And there are so many records of visions and prophecies throughout history, including those in the Bible, so while I'm very sceptical of all of this, I'm not convinced that there's absolutely no truth in it - just not in the way most people think of it, perhaps.

FEMINISM

I actually dislike super-feminism, they read far too much into EVERYTHING! However, I do appreciate the fact that I now have equal rights to a man, I approve of that. I don't see why feminists see the need to try and reverse gender roles, though, that's just taking things way too far! After all - we don't need to try to be the stronger sex. We're already the smarter sex, having both titles would just be greedy ;)

So, to sum up: I seem to have a mixture of liberal and conservative views here, hmm. And there are several other headings that I could have put in - such as when the pyramids were built, according to May Jay - but these were the ones that were easiest to write about, so yeah! Anyone who actually copies this idea (and I'm not expecting there to be too many) can by all means take out anything they don't really have an opinion on and replace it with something else, too!

BRENDA GOES TO THE FAIR

Sunday, 27 February 2011
James challenged me to write a short story about Brenda the cat in his meme reply. This happened.

Brenda awoke promptly from her catnap at precisely 17 minutes past 5 - that is, 17:17. Shaking out her scarlet fur, she padded into the kitchen and coerced her slaves into giving her some meat (they thought she was just a pet - gullible fools!). After checking in the mirror that not a hair of her glorious orange fur coat was out of place, she was ready!

Slipping stealthily out of the house and into the cool winter air, she hailed a French taxi and got in, giving the driver directions to the fair. As the vehicle zoomed through the traffic, she saw several dogs with their heads out the windows of their own cars - how disgustingly uncivilised, she thought!

She arrived at the fair with plenty of time to spare, her fur tinted golden by the last rays of the sunset as she strutted away from the taxi. The walrus wouldn't be here for another ten minutes at least - she could probably afford to relax a bit.

To that end, she wandered over to one of the stalls, where some kind of fat mortal was concocting a confection of waffles, crepes and lashings of chocolate sauce. To one side, an Asian was being distracted from his popcorn stall by a girl wearing some of Brenda's kin on her feet, and to the other side...

It looked innocent enough, a simple candyfloss stall. But that's only if you could overlook the fact that the candyfloss was foaming. It was bubbling up and over the side, flowing straight towards Brenda in a massive tidal wave of sticky pink evil sugar-based goop! Given that the normal texture of candyfloss isn't goopy at all, Brenda was pretty sure there was some evil afoot here, to have changed the molecular structure of the substance in such a way, and so she immediately sprang into action!

Being careful not to stain her glamorous azure coat, Brenda whipped out a fancy gadget of unknown origin and aimed it in the direction of the candyfloss goop-producing machine. Checking the compass at the top to make sure that it was definitely pointing the right way, she then pulled the trigger, and a spray of bullets and plasma spewed out of the device. With a BOOM, the candyfloss goop-producing device exploded, along with all traces of the toxic substance.

Brenda had no collar to pop, so she flicked her indigo tail smugly instead.

"Congratulations," came a smarmy voice from behind her. Turning, she saw a moth wearing a suit in the distance, and a walrus smoking a pipe just in front of her. "You saved the world."

Brenda narrowed her eyes at the sleazy walrus. She really didn't like this fellow, he had a malevolent aura about him that made her want to shoot him in the face.

So she did just that. Sure, she and this anonymous walrus were supposed to be negotiating for world peace, but she was fairly sure he'd caused the floss commotion, plus he was holding a Dark Matter plushie, which may as well have been a giant signpost telling her that he was on drugs and possibly a nerd. So she decided to rid the world of him before he had the chance to compliment her breathtaking violet fur in a lecherous fashion, and then she strutted back home. The fair was dreadfully boring, really.

Sir James!

1) I'm half convinced that you have magic powers of some description. Which given that I'm very skeptical of such things is saying something!

2) I challenge you to add a cape to that outfit you have planned for the formal! (If you're stuck, Claudia might still have a purple one...)

3) Dark purple, probably partly because of Ursula, though it kind of fits your personality too.

4) I love that no matter what, you can always make me laugh, but that you're a real friend past the laughter as well.

5) First time I remember you was when I was sitting with Rachel Haugh in the central hall, and you came over with Mark and told her there was a rumour going around that she had a picture of the Morbegs on her mobile. Then you cackled and wandered off again...

6) A narwhal, because you like the cold and they're intriguing!

7) What is the randomest thing that's ever happened to you? Because crazy things seem to happen all the time around you  =P

1) I usually blame you for pretty much any boy-crazy thing I ever say - because let's face it, it probably IS your fault!

2) I challenge you to go without make-up for one day at school - seriously, you don't even need it!

3) Blue. But I can't decide if you're royal blue (status as Head Girl), electric blue (your inherent coolness), or dark blue (your dark side =P) so we'll just go with blue in general!

4) I like how you've become so much more reliable lately - you always seem to figure out the best way of getting stuff done, and I seriously don't know how you manage to organise everything and cope with it all! But you still have time for us, even when we're being infuriating.

5) I don't have any really clear memories of you from ages ago, but I do remember hearing in junior school that you and Lizzie were always competing to be top of 8.2 and you were the Englishy one, lol.

6) Hmm for an animal I'm seeing a white wolf? Because sometimes you're happy in a pack/crowd, sometimes happy as a lone wolf, and you can be dangerous but only when you're angry =D (And I'm sure you can fit Taylor Lautner into the logic somewhere!)

7) If you had to choose just one celebrity man to adore (as well as John, of course), who would it be?

8) Repost repost repost!

5) I remember thinking that you, Orla Corbett and Rebecca Newell all looked the same in primary school... I could never remember which of you was which, but it didn't matter because you weren't in my class! Yay! (I don't think you even did look the same, you just hung around together or something and that confused me oh so dreadfully!)

6) Ha I was tempted to say a sloth, but then I thought you're more like a cat, because you can just tell that my cat's constantly thinking "hmmm I should go hunting or other suchlike constructive activity... no no no, I'll do it later, for now I'll just sit here sleeping/playing my Pokémon game!"

7) Hast thou finished Blood Bound?!

AFTER EIGHT

Wednesday, 9 February 2011
Blogger has been boring, Emma was bored. Voila, the result of boredom - another honesty blog! Because it's not like they're overused or anything...

1
You are quite possibly the awesomest out of all the people I know - you never fail to make me laugh, and I love how we're on a similar (very strange) wavelength. Recently I've been appreciating you more than ever, I'm so glad you're in my life!

2
I'm starting to realise that the two of us are VERY similar. I think we probably always have been in some ways, but I never really wanted to admit it till now, because before I never appreciated your weirdness, lol.

3
The past month or two I feel like you've been pushing me away - yeah, I get that you had your reasons, but I hate it. I just hope you weren't doing it on purpose.

4
I really wish that we were able to have deep conversations - out of everyone, I seem to be spending the most time with you these days, but somehow we can never quite seem to open up! That doesn't change the fact that I only have to be around you for 2 minutes to feel more cheerful.

5
I never quite know what to think of you! Admiration, jealousy, camaraderie, disbelief, exasperation, pity - all emotions that you provoke from time to time. Admiration seems to be prevalent right now, though.

6
I have no idea how the flip we've been together so often lately! You're a random person to suddenly appear in my life, but I'm glad you're there.

7
You don't deserve the abuse you get, you're hilarious and absolutely awesome! My deepest apologies, and also - WELL DONE. No matter what anyone else says, the world would be a little less bright if you were saner.

8
I love that I can be totally myself with you, and that we can actually have teenage girl-ish type conversations - not to mention all the deep conversations/rants we've had! I sometimes think I'm overvaluing you, but I honestly don't know what I'd do without you.

"Fear is a great motivator!"

Friday, 4 February 2011
I challenged May Jay to write about boggarts, and now she has challenged everyone else to write about boggarts! So to bring it all full circle, I shall now blog about my boggart.

Of course, it would be so unique and exciting if my boggart was an army of welly boots flying towards my face. Welly boots with HEELS, at that! And Gary Spence lurking menacingly in the background, flexing his muscles.

See, they want to EAT ME!
Obviously this would be a relevant and plausible boggart for me, but sadly I have to admit that in reality it's more likely to be a horde of giant insects flying/crawling towards me. FAIL.

Look, it's Aragog's family! They're also going to eat me.

Scandal and Corruption!!

Tuesday, 18 January 2011
So for lunch today, Dad and I went to this little restaurant at the top of the ski slope - we went to it yesterday as well. The first thing I thought when I walked onto the terrace?

It was not "Ooh pretty view of Mont Blanc!" It probably should have been, the view was amazing.

It was not "Hungry hungry hungry I think I want a panini." This is more like the sort of thing that normally crosses my mind, so this is what I would've expected myself to think.

Instead, it was "Ohh, the hot waiter from yesterday is here again!!"

CLAUDIA. KERRI. WHAT HAVE YOU TWO DONE TO ME?!

10-Day Meme: Day 10

Saturday, 15 January 2011
One confession.

Right now? I'm in France. Lawl.

(No seriously, dad thought study leave seemed like a good time to go skiing. Craziness runs in our family... So yes Jordan, I shall get you that bottle of water from the French Alps!)

10-Day Meme: Day 9

Friday, 14 January 2011
Two events/actions that describe your life right now. (I decided to go for an event AND an action, just to shake things up a bit!)

1 - ACTION
Writing! I think I mentioned this in day 2's post, but I adore writing, and right now I seem to be doing a LOT of it. Blogging is becoming a chronic addiction, especially while I've been doing this meme, I have become addicted to MSN once again, I love updating my twitter (not so much facebook, I kind of resent it actually), I write my diary every night, there's schoolwork to be done, and then of course there's that thing from Physics yesterday...

2 - EVENT
Container parties! They are the greatest things ever invented, even if they do make me sick (I don't care, we need some more of them, next time I can just wear like 3 coats or something but we MUST have more)! In fact, I think there was one sort of going on in my dream last night, lol. The container is the one place where conversation is never awkward no matter what the topic is, and the conversations/knowledge/inside jokes that happen as a result are just brilliant!

10-Day Meme: Day 8

Thursday, 13 January 2011
Three turn-ons.

1
Well-kept, somewhat longish dark hair. Example: Eoin Macken/Gwaine!
2
Ok, I feel mean for writing this, but: intelligence. I don't mean knowing the ins and outs of nuclear physics, but knowing your left from your right (politically speaking) or best of all, knowing some random other language - basically, just having some sort of knowledge about whatever it may be, because I love the random conversations that result!

3
Musical ability! I don't have any, but I wish I did, and I really admire the people who do!

10-Day Meme: Day 7

Wednesday, 12 January 2011
Four turn-offs.

1
Huge tattoos covering every inch of available skin! They're so unnecessary and look revolting; one or two small ones I can understand - in fact, very rarely they can look kinda nice - but massive ones are quite repulsive.

2
Lack of a sense of humour is something that I cannot put up with! Life is too short to take seriously, which is why I don't think I have a single friend who doesn't know how to make me laugh.

3
The male version of hareem pants - drop-crotch trousers, I think they're called? They look as weird and disgusting as their name implies.

4
Loudmouthedness. Not the best way of putting it, because it also implies that I hate people who have naturally loud voices (untrue), or people who occasionally disrupt class (mostly untrue). But I mean when people don't know when to shut up, slag everyone off, every other word is a swear word, and are generally just unpleasant to listen to!

10-Day Meme: Day 6

Tuesday, 11 January 2011
Five people who mean a lot.

Person 1
In some ways, you know more about me than anyone else does, including my family - just because you actually care about my life. I love how we can just talk about anything, and you definitely make that class more bearable! I can honestly say that I'm used to your bad moods (they actually amuse me), and I'm no longer intimidated by you! In fact, when I want to talk to someone, you're almost always the one I go to. If we lose contact when we go to uni, I think I will fall apart, because you have become one of my closest friends of all.

[So maybe I overreacted, but I actually respect you more now.]

Person 2
I know what you said about me, and it goes both ways. I think you understand me better than a lot of people do, even though logically that's unlikely - but you're one of the few people who can tell when I'm upset, and conversation with you never feels awkward (if we have nothing to say we just fall awkwardly silent instead, lol). In many ways, we're equals. I trust you as much as you trust me - which is apparently a lot, and that meant so much to me.

[I don't know whether or not you remember a comment you once made about my earrings. But these days I actually wear them more often because of that, even if it doesn't exactly apply to me.]

Person 3
I swear I sometimes think you're insane - especially recently! You make me laugh almost every time we're talking, but I've had some really deep conversations with you too. Sometimes you encourage me, sometimes you infuriate me, and I love that you're never afraid to speak your mind. Your love for the GC will never fail to amuse me, too! Recently though, you're a bit weird with me - what's that all about?

[At first I was disappointed. But then I realised that all things considered, I should be proud.]

Person 4
You are probably the only one who understands - and shares! - some of my odder tastes and interests, and although sometimes I find myself completely disagreeing and annoyed with you because of our very different attitudes, I honestly think that you are amazing! I actually really admire you, and even though you sometimes go overboard with things, you're so in control of your life! Some of the things you say really worry me though - are you okay?

[Another overreaction, but I guess I was right the first time, after all. I wish I'd been wrong.]

Person 5
We've had our awkward moments, but even though we're so different, we've somehow managed to become such good friends! You are an odd child, but I actually appreciate your weirdness, because it makes you more you! Sometimes I completely disagree with what you say, but I respect you for having your own opinions at the same time. You can have me in complete hysterics with just a few words, you can confuse me with even fewer, and you don't even have to speak to freak me out! You add so much colour to my life, I'm going to miss you so much next year!

[I know that what you think and how you act are opposites. But this time, I don't know whether or not you're just hiding how you really feel.]

I do not even know what to think about this. Some of them are very obvious, others not so much...

10-Day Meme: Day 5

Six things you wish you'd never done.

1
Attempting to go drive to the Silent Valley to go sledging last month... another car crashed into mine, and even if the only damage was scratches, it wasted my entire afternoon! And dad's still sorting out insurance and whatnot to get them fixed. Not cool.

2
Keeping English on this year - I kind of loathe it! Even though the craic in Mr Cowan's class is good, and I'm looking forward to Chaucer, I'm starting to think it just wasn't worth it.

3
I wish I hadn't been so obsessive over (insert list of things here). I get addicted to tv shows, book series, and other such things far too easily, and it eats up far too much of my time!

4
Doubting you. I wish that never happened.

5
All of junior school! Big regret there, because I was a generally horrible person - I was such a little know-it-all, was quite stuck-up, and had absolutely no sense of humour! I was lucky enough to have friends who kicked some sense into me, but even so I know that the first impression I left on a lot of people has affected the way they think of me ever since.

6
I really regret that so often I've been silent instead of standing up for what I believe in. When someone says something that I fundamentally disagree with, sometimes it's just so much easier to just say nothing - or worse, pretend I agree with them. I don't actually mean so much my religious views, because people know I'm a Christian and don't tend to slag it off around me, but xenophobia, and in fact pretty much any kind of intolerance drives me insane! I just wish I had the guts to fight against it more.

Seven things that cross your mind a lot.

1
"I'm hungry!!!!!!!!!"
Happens rather a lot, especially in school. This was literally the first thing I thought of when I read the title for today, I wonder what that says about me...

2
"Ahhhh uni!"
This crosses my mind in odd ways, which are actually usually positive, such as when I have to go to bed and I want to stay on the computer for another hour or three: "Ooh, when I'm at uni I can stay up as late as I want! Yay!" Then again, this also tells me that my sleeping pattern at uni is going to be even more messed up than it was at the Christmas holidays this year... not good. Basically uni is in my head because it's soon and it'll be a big change, and I really wonder what it'll be like.

3
"Really can't be bothered with this right now..."
I have very little motivation sometimes, especially doing English homework. Then this thought appears in my mind... and I tend to get distracted doing something silly and ridiculous. Fail!

4
"Hahahahaha that's brilliant!"
This actually does cross my mind all the time - and I love when it does, because I love to laugh.

5
"Ugh, I just want to be alone right now!"
And then if possible I turn the music up... If not, I try to just tune out the rest of the world and get my thoughts/emotions in check.

6
"Why is no one on MSN? I want to talk to someone!"
Completely contrary to the previous thought, I do quite like people! And I love to just have a chat and a laugh and a bit of craic. Not necessarily always related to MSN, sometimes I just want to get out of the house and go out somewhere randomly *cough* container party! I guess it all just depends on my mood, whether I'm feeling sociable or not...

7
"Awk sure, it'll all work out in the end."
This is basically my life motto. I never used to think of myself as an optimist, but I seem to have become one simply due to the fact that I cannot be BOTHERED worrying about things. If uni is a disaster then I won't have seen it coming and I won't have been prepared for it, but hey, if I stay as destressed then as I am now then at least I won't have high blood pressure! That's got to count for something, right?

10-Day Meme: Day 3

Eight ways to win your heart.

1
For anyone who knows me at all, this one will be obvious - the way to my heart is through my stomach. With chocolate!

2
Use sarcasm! I am an exceedingly sarcastic person, and this doesn't work when other people don't get it. I greatly appreciate the people who I can banter with, there's no fun in being nice all the time!

3
Give good hugs. This is something I only realised recently - I actually like an occasional hug when I know that whoever I'm hugging doesn't feel awkward about it, but since that applies to most people I know, I've been deprived of hugs for many a year now - I feel this should be dealt with!

4
This one is ridiculously girly and cliché and silly and I don't like it - but it's a well-known fact that an occasional compliment will win any girl's heart. No flattery though - you have to mean it.

5
Talk to me! Obvious, but seriously, a good/deep/crazy conversation with someone can make my day.

6
Be able to tell when I'm upset. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's really not - and sometimes, I wish someone would just ask me what's wrong.

7
Going completely insane and hyper with me over something totally random definitely endears people to me!

8
I've run out of ideas, so... don't judge me, just accept me, be yourself - all that cliché jazz!

This one was really weird to write...

Nine things about yourself.

1
I almost always have a song stuck in my head - often just whatever I listened to last. At any rate, I think I have some sort of CD player in my brain...

2
I don't cry at films that are supposed to be sad (especially romances, ugh) - but if there's a sad moment in a generally happy film, I'll be in floods.

3
Even though I despise cleaning with all my heart, I'm kind of OCD about my room being tidy (Claudia has told me before that it freaks her out because it never changes, lol).

4
I would be amazed if anyone could name ALL of these: my two favourite book series, my three favourite music artists, and my four favourite TV shows. (This is a challenge - leave a comment with your guesses! You have to guess all of them, even if you're just putting in something random to make up the numbers. I'll give the correct answers on Day 10 of the meme - ooh, and bonus points if you can name my favourite character from each of the books/tv shows, not counting any reality shows, of course!)

5
I like to think I can cook. I can't. Apart from omelettes. ("Emma... did you even turn the oven on?")

6
I absolutely love writing, whatever form it may take - diary or bloggerish writing, fiction, French - so long as it's a fun topic, that is. I'm not so sad as to enjoy an English essay!

7
As far as I can tell, people who don't know me very well think I'm very hard-working and constantly concentrating in class. These people have never met my attention span, which is not just short, but dwarfish. Or attempted to copy my notes. Or sat beside me. Or heard me say something completely ridiculous and unrelated to anything (which I do VERY frequently). Not to mention that I literally NEED to listen to music to be able to concentrate on work! Etc etc. Basically I am a scatterbrain!

8
I hardly ever wear make-up, because I can't be bothered with it (and I never wear foundation because it just doesn't work with my skin!). But even though I hate to admit it, I'm starting to care a lot more about how I look - I only wear clothes that flatter me, and I even asked for new straighteners for Christmas. I guess everyone's prone to vanity sometimes...

9
I have never had a functioning nickname! Stich, Gizmo - lol junior school. Emz, ewww! Emboot - that's just a slap in the face! Welly Bin - a slap around the earring. Dilemma - well no one calls me that, it's just for the back of my hoody! So... it's a good thing I like my name then ^_^

10-Day Meme: Day 1

Wednesday, 5 January 2011
Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.

Person 1
There are so many things I want to say to you, but I'll settle for this: I know how much you want to change the world. Well, you changed me, even if you don't really know it, and even if it doesn't show (at least not yet - who knows what the future will bring?).

Person 2
I honestly don't think people know how close we are. Which I don't really understand - I would have thought it shows. But somehow, you have become one of the very few people to earn my complete allegiance as a friend, even if other people don't really see that. You don't get told it enough, so I'll say it now - you're awesome!

Person 3
I still don't know if I should trust a word you say - but I trust you. I'm so sorry. I don't know what I'd do without you - life would be so much less bright.

Person 4
I lied. I did mind. But my pride wouldn't let me admit it. And I'm fine now. I don't blame you at all - it's not like you knew.

Person 5
I can honestly say that I don't know you any more. When did that happen?

Person 6
I have my suspicions. I don't know whether I'm being too judgemental or everyone else is blind, but I suspect. I wish I knew for sure. (The thing is: I don't care, I just want to know. Which is probably more than anyone else with suspicions can say.)

Person 7
I wish I could help you. But I don't know how.

Person 8
You had a letter written to you, but then I decided it was too scandalous, and completely abandoned the anonymous letters altogether. So I guess I'll say it here: I'm scared of being too nice to you, in case I give anyone the right impression. But I'm also scared that being too cold towards you (aka giving YOU the right impression) will drive you away completely. That's not what I want.

Person 9
Sometimes I wonder how you can possibly be you. Sometimes I wish I was more like you. A part of me thinks it would be a shame if you ever changed. A part of me hopes that someday, you do.

Person 10
I always feel like you're judging me. I know you're not, but in so many ways it just feels like you are. Probably because you hold so many opinions that I secretly disagree with. But you're the reason that I'd never admit that out loud.

Um... please don't kill me. I swear they weren't supposed to be this cryptic!!!

Something To Talk About

Monday, 3 January 2011
So... what is there to talk about?

Well, first of all, music! I'm listening to music right now, in fact. I went on a downloading spree yesterday, and downloaded a grand total of... FIVE new songs! Yep, impressively large total there. /sarcasm

Two of them were by 2NE1, whose new album I hadn't previously heard even though it's been out since the summer, but then Claudia put Go Away on in the car and I was like :O then *mrf*, so I looked it up and the MV is like "...?", then I found Can't Nobody and though it was cool, then found the English version and was like o.O, then downloaded them both! Teehee.

Pretty lyrics! Read the pretty lyrics.

I think I'm doing fine, honey,
But I think that you should know:
I'm happy with myself and all the things that I have done.
And when you told me I was nothing,
I finally took control,
And now I'm proud of who you've made me,
I can finally break the hold.
So let's toast to this here controversy,
And say it's said and done,
We'll just say it's said and done,
We'll just say it's said and done.

Lol title is in the title. Oh, and I think there's a shark in the water. At the carnival. I want to go to that carnival. It looks like a fun carnival. WHY IS IT NOT YET FEBRUARY?! That would be a perfect month if there were no mocks and Merlin was also coming back. Mmm Gwaine.

I watched Prince of Persia last night, yay! And Alice In Wonderland at lunchtime, crazy movie.

I need something to do. I'm just sitting here slowly going insane. Argh.
